Lunar New Year 2015

Happy Lunar New Year!! or Chúc mừng năm mới as it is said in Vietnamese!

A little fact about this year's lunar new year:

'2015 is the year of the goat, but you may see it referred to as the “Year of the Sheep” too.

The confusion stems from the Chinese character “yang”, which can translate in colloquial Chinese as either sheep or goat.

Their characters are supposedly kind and peaceable, while their best months are supposedly August and November and their lucky flowers are primroses and carnations.'

I miss being home during this time to celebrate with my family and eat all the yummy foods my mom always make. It's hard being so far away, but then again, I'm also thankful we aren't overseas sometimes. Hopefully this time next year we will be able to celebrate lunar New Years in Vietnam! :) We spent the day in Little Rock today after hubs got home from work. We had PF Changs for dinner and did some shopping :) Then we were able to do some FaceTiming with my parents to wish them a happy new year. Overall, it was a fun day! here's to a year of new adventures, lots of love & laughter, and many more fun and exciting times watching our little boy learn and grow! ☺️😘

Winter wonderland 2015

Well I guess I'm still dreaming of Spring. Mother Nature decided to tease us last week when we had those amazing spring weather because winter has finally decided to come around. We had a snow/ice storm sunday night and again last night. Most of it has melted away today but it was nice while it lasted. Liam def. enjoyed all the snow on the ground. He was so excited to wake up and see it! When I showed it to him, he immediately said "let it go!!", refering to Elsa from Frozen of course lol. He's such a smart little man. We took him out to play in the snow on Monday. Daddy took him sledding. He wasn't so sure of it at first, but after awhile, he wanted to go again lol. All this change in weather has gotten to me though, and I think I'm starting to come down with a cold :(  Although I'm loving all the beautiful snow, I'm ready for warmer weather, flowers, & sunshine! Here are some pictures I snapped when we took Liam out to play in the snow. Enjoy =)

singing "let it go" lol

my lil man is so handsome! =) He looks so grown up here though :(

our beautiful lake covered in snow

So thankful we didn't loose power during this winter storm. Thinking of all our families and friends back home in GA who lost power for many hours because of their ice storm. Hoping they all get it back soon. Love you all! Maybe my next post will be about warmer weather and spring time lol

Valentine's Day Weekend!

We had a wonderful 3 (4) day weekend celebrating Valentine's Day =)  On Friday, hubs had an AF award banquet that we had to attend. It was to celebrate those who had won certain awards in 2014. In Jason's case, he had been awarded Airman of the Year for 2014 for his squadron. I couldn't be any more proud of my hard working husband!

In addition to this medal, hubs also got a plaque, which was given to him a couple of weeks ago.

It was nice to dress up & get out of the house. My heels have missed me ;) lol

After the banquet, we decided to go see a movie since we haven't been to the movies in awhile and our sweet friends were watching Liam for us =) We saw The Kingsman, which I totally recommend! It was a great movie.

Saturday morning Liam woke up to a Valentine surprise! He was so excited to see all his goodies.

Saturday afternoon/night we babysat our friends little ones so that they could have a night out. Liam had so much fun playing with Amaiya, while little Caden was attached to Jason all night long lol. We celebrated a late Valentine's Day Sunday night with a yummy steak & shrimp dinner made my sweet valentine. =)

In addition to all the other activities that we had going on all weekend, we always find some time to take our little man to the park to play. We had amazing weather on Friday & Saturday so we let him run around the park and play with the duckies. He loved seeing all the ducks, or "quack quacks" as he likes to call them lol.

Liam loves the swing! Even CoCo decided to join him =)

Mr. Liam also got a new puzzle to play with this weekend. Nope, he's not spoiled at all.

Making funny faces with daddy lol
I also found some time to do some crafts. I'm slowly getting used to my sewing machine. I made a new strap cover for my camera. I also made a cute little sign to go above our family portrait. =)

Hope everyone enjoyed your valentine's weekend with your loved ones.

Hello February!

Hello February!!

You sure did sneak up on us! I wouldn't have even known it was already February if it wasn't for the Super Bowl! lol. Speaking of Super Bowl, let me just go ahead and get this out of the way.....

WAY TO GO PATRIOTS!!!!

I'm so glad they won! lol. Jason, on the other hand, was not too happy about their win. Anyway, we had a little get together at our friend's house to watch the Super Bowl. It was def. a lot of fun. But then again, anytime that we have get togethers with our friends that involve tons of foods, there's bound to be tons of laughter to go along with it =)

yummy foods!!

love these ladies!

the shameful Seahawks fans after they lost lol
Other than the Super Bowl gathering on Sunday, we haven't done much this week. Feb. welcomed us with sickness, yet again. Jason & I had just gotten over being sick for like a week the last week of Jan., now Liam has a cold. Poor baby is all congested and has been coughing. He seems to be feeling a little better today. Fingers crossed that this goes away soon. I hate my sweet baby being sick.

Anyways, the other day Liam found daddy's old car toys stash that he had when he was a little kid. That made him so happy. He loves cars and trucks. He spent the majority of the day just playing with them. I'm so glad Jason kept these toys so that he can now pass them down to Liam to play with.

He took them all in his castle to play with =) btw, he was saying "cheese" in this picture, he just wasn't looking at the camera so it looks like he's just staring off into space lol
Well that's all for now. Nothing exciting has been happening lately. We've just been cooped up in the house because Liam has been sick. Hoping he will get better soon and the temperature gets a little warmer so we can take him to the park or let him play outside. Feb will be a fun month for us. I have several photo sessions lined up for this month, and the next couple months actually, so I'm excited about that. Valentine's Day is coming up =) Gotta figured out what to get my boys ;) Jason just got some new hiking boots so maybe if the temperature warms up a little bit, we can get out and do some hiking. =) Until next time!
